Antalya is the largest city of the Mediterranean Coast of Turkey. The history of Antalya goes back to 200 BC. There is a rich historical heritage in Antalya. From Pergamon to Byzantine Empire, from Seljuks to Ottomans, several diffferent civilization left marks of their culture in Antalya.
Kaleici is the Old City of Antalya, surrounding the Roman Harbour. You can find cozy restaurants, boutique hotel and shops in this area.
Antalya used to be a capitol city and it is surrounded by city walls. Today you can only find Hadrian’s Gate survived from those walls. This breath taking, beautiful structure built as a memorial of Emperor Hadrians visit to the city.
The city is surrounded by beaches and watefalls and other natural beauties as well. Today it is considered as the capitol of tourism. It is the 5th largest city in Turkey.
We will pick you up from your hotel for Antalya city tour. We will visit The old City first. We will see Kaleici and Clock Towe. Then we will see Hadiran’s Gate, the only survived part of the city walls.This great gate has built as a memorial of Emperor Hadrian’s visit of Antalya. We will see Broken Minaret which built as a Roman Temple in 2nd century. In Byzantine era, it is used as a church dedicated Virgin Mary. Afterwards under Seljuk Empire it is converted into a mosque. When the King of Cyprus took Antalya it is served as a church again but Ottomans took the city and it is reconverted into a mosque again.The main building destroyed in a fire in 1746 but the minaret still stands. We will stop at Hidirlik Tower and we will go to a restaurant for lunch.
After lunch we will visit Duden Waterfall and Archeological Museum. After the tour we will drive you back to your hotel.
